May I end on a personal note? The Chairmanship of the Travel Association devolved on me when I was Chairman of the

Urban Council in 1935. When I left that post and was succeeded

by Mr. Todd in March, 1936, I continued as Chairman of the Travel Association, partly at Mr. Todd's request, endorsed by Sir Thomas Southorn, then Colonial Secretary, and partly from a personal

wish to see the Association, which I had helped to form, in a

hopeless task at present without support either from the business community or from the Government, and that some clear enunciation of the Government's views regarding the value they put on the Association and the support they are prepared to give it in the
